New 5200M design at Boot Düsseldorf

To unveil a new 5200M design Jongert Shipyard in the Netherlands is to give a public debut to an exciting new sailing yacht design at the upcoming Boot Düsseldorf.

By Rene van der Velden and a hull design by Doug Peterson.

The modern 52-metre ketch is the latest innovation from this leading Dutch yard, which is making a strong comeback in the market after being acquired by new owners in mid 2009.

As part of their renewed approach Jongert’s new management team has challenged various leading designers to create their ‘ultimate Jongert’. The Jongert 5200M that will be unveiled in Düsseldorf is the first fruit of this innovative concept.

A modern performance cruiser with a ketch rig for easy handling, the yacht has an exterior profile by Rene van der Velden and a hull design by Doug Peterson.

Van der Velden describes his vision of the ultimate Jongert thus: “This is an exciting and sleek yacht that combines the Jongert values of old with the latest thinking in terms of sailing comfort.

A leading edge in terms of performance.

She synthesises all the clearly identifiable elements that made the Jongert brand so renowned around the world look & feel with a range of features that ensure a leading edge in terms of performance.

Jongert yachts have always been known for their exceptional reliability and safety, and Van der Velden’s ingenious layout on the new 5200M goes even further in ensuring the wellbeing of guests.

A separate passageway alongside the wheelhouse allows people to move between the various al fresco sitting areas without having to use the side decks, such as from the inner aft cockpit to the forward sunbathing area for example.

A wonderful beach-club zone

Another sophisticated feature is a wonderful beach-club zone, including a large stern sunbathing platform, wet bar, shower, and toilet. This area is also accessible directly from the four guest cabins.

The 5200M also features a spacious owner’s stateroom and very generous crew facilities.

A large owner’s tender is stored on the foredeck, with the crew tender and jet skis housed in a dedicated berth under the aft deck and concealed by large hatches.
